What do you do for work? Matatu operator and an IT specialist. I've been working as a matatu operator for three years, and I have a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Certificates in Project Management, International Development and a Certificate in Grant Writing.
Before working with Haki Data Lab, had you ever collected data before? I have collected data on matatu routes, commuter behavior, and how Nairobi’s matatu system shapes youth identity and urban life. I also volunteered in data entry and enumeration projects at RemoteTasks where I was involved in report writing, and community research. I bring skills in data collection, analysis, report writing, and community engagement.
Tell us about your “superpowers”! Everyone has one, what are yours? Organizing people, problem solving and sports. My family and friends describe me as reliable and resourceful. I can be counted on to deliver.
What brings you joy in your daily life? Learning new things, engaging with people.
Share a memory that makes you proud of yourself! I was able to lead a team of 6 people in successfully organizing and executing a large travel operation which had a positive client feedback.
